        there is experimental code in gdkvisual-win32.c to let the user
        restrict the size of palette used.)

        (gdk_rgb_select_conv): Use gdk_rgb_convert_8 also for depths 5, 6
        and 7 (see above). Use gdk_rgb_convert_4_pack for 4 bits per pixel
