   1 To do a release:

   3 - Update NEWS, configure.ac, and fetchmail.man, with release number & date.

   5 - Run "perl dist-tools/makerelease.pl" - this entails "make distcheck".

   7 - Commit all files to the VCS (Git).

   9 - Tag the new release with a signed tag.

  11 - Upload sig and tarball to ~/public_html/fetchmail/ and edit index.html
  12   for the new files, NEWS, and the new release and last update.

  14 - Upload sig and tarball to ftp.berlios.de:/incoming/ and release

  16 - Upload lsm and tarball to ibiblio.org:/incoming/linux/

  18 - Update the fetchmail website for version, link to release nodes
  19   (update release_id) and last update, commit, and upload.

  21 - Announce on freshmeat.
